Introduction to fly-fishing

Discovery the art of fly fishing at Stocks Reservoir. You will be introduced to the reservoir and receive some basic tuition in entomology and watercraft, and watch a fly-casting demonstration before receiving over an hour’s expert tuition in fishing and casting. You will then have another two hours to try your best to catch your own trout! Complimentary refreshments on arrival.

Extended Moorland Safari

Join the RSPB and United Utilities to look for special moorland birds such as ring ouzels, curlews, peregrines and merlins. Learn about moorland management techniques that benefit both wildlife and water quality. With luck a ‘skydancer’ – the rare and enigmatic hen harrier – may be the highlight of the day!

A walking trail exploring the story of the Pendle Witches. Discover the Eye of God, see where Demdike claimed to have met the devil and visit a witches grave.

Shooting to Printing

Led by a professional photographer, this workshop is designed to open your eyes and help you to see in a fresh way. You will spend the morning taking digital photographs in and around Bentham, be revived by a simple home-cooked lunch at Looking Well Studios, followed by a workshop - with individual laptops -learning how to get the best from your digital images using Photoshop Elements. You will need to bring your own digital camera with its lead to download your photographs.

Badger Encounter
